I think Willow made a better magician, he could make evil Sorceresses disappear!

Just a quick note, as we have thunderstorms coming in and I'm not sure how long they'll last. First, there was an update yesterday. Apologies for having it take so long, I had to do laundry and didn't get home 'til 11 p.m. (EST). I managed to get it up just before the Midnight Update Swarm. *shiver* And then found out that I'd made an error and decided to add a second pic. *chuckle* So if you saw the Wednesday update and only saw one pic, you might want to take a peek at the second pic of Yuki the pet rat, who will be missed.
I suspect that Katie would also be teary-eyed over Yuki, but that's just me. Well, also and the fact that she got teary-eyed over a puppy. Of course she'd be sad over a beloved pet rat. Well, if she saw how upset Jin got over Yuki's passing. I'm not honestly sure how Katie reacts to rats in general. Well, pet ones at least. Wild ones... heh, I've seen wild ones. Both in warehouses and literally in the wild. Not something I want to be close to. *wry chuckle* But pet rats are a much nicer and more cuddly animal. (Probably like a pet cat compared to a feral cat. The feral ones are inevitably scruffier and less cute. Unless you find one as a kitten and try to domesticate it.)
Anyway, to stop tangenting for a moment, I rather like today's CYS. I suspect that Katie probably hasn't seen the Harry Pottery movies (if her mom had to sell the TV for a bit, I suspect that they might never have had a VCR... though to be honest, you can often get an old TV for free just by keeping an eye out on garbage day and acquiring one that was put out on the curb. Heck, I got rid of a working TV on garbage day by doing just that), so she probably only has a vague idea of how the movies have visualized the novels.
Thus Katie is dressed up like a combination stage magician and magician's apprentice. It's most cute. :) And like Adrian, I'm eagerly waiting the sixth Harry Potter novel, in all its glory.
It's hard to believe it's been what, four, five years for me? I started with book 3 (I resisted Harry Potter because I didn't want to be yet another (ahem) "sheep" joining a craze over a book, but when they put the first book out as a cheap paperback, I succumbed and realized it was actually pretty decent. That was back when they released the third book in paperback, so it's been a few years) and have been buying the hardcovers ever since, instead of waiting for it to hit the library or go to paperback. *chuckle*
I can easily see Laurie and Ship taking turns reading Harry Potter to Katie. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they use Harry Potter to help teach Katie how to read better; I don't care if you sneer down your nose at Harry Potter or consider it not to be good literature or the like... but anything that gets children to read should be encouraged. A love of reading is always a good thing to install in children, and helps them through all of their lives. I don't care if they read Harry Potter, comic books, or Dr. Seuss... if they read these, in time they may end up reading classics from Austin, Swift, or Melville.
*smile* I do have to admit, I'd love to see Adrian Ramos draw that; a picture of Katie, Laurie, and Ship sitting down together to read Harry Pottery. I suspect it's the type of thing Laurie would do to spend time with her daughter... and would be a wonderful family picture well in keeping with CYS.
